Individual Psychotherapy
Integrative psychotherapy for anxiety, trauma, identity, and lasting emotional change.
Service Description
Individual psychotherapy offers structured, compassionate, and collaborative support tailored to your specific needs. Sessions draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Internal Family Systems-informed parts work (IFS), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and trauma-informed principles to create an integrative and responsive approach. CBT helps identify and shift unhelpful thinking patterns that influence mood, behaviour, and relationships. We examine core beliefs, cognitive distortions, and behavioural cycles that may be maintaining anxiety, depression, avoidance, or self-criticism. Behavioural experiments and structured exercises build evidence for new perspectives and strengthen confidence through lived experience. DBT skills support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindful awareness. You learn practical tools to manage overwhelm, reduce impulsivity, and respond to stress with greater steadiness. These skills are practised both in session and between sessions to promote sustainable change. Motivational Interviewing strengthens clarity and commitment when you feel ambivalent about change. Rather than pushing or persuading, we explore your values, goals, and internal conflicts with respect for autonomy. This process builds intrinsic motivation and supports lasting behavioural shifts. IFS-informed parts work recognises that different “parts” of you may carry protective roles, fears, or burdens shaped by past experience. Instead of pathologising these responses, we approach them with curiosity and compassion. This reduces shame and supports internal balance and self-leadership. Compassion Focused Therapy develops warmth, courage, and self-soothing capacities. Many people live with harsh inner critics or chronic shame. CFT strengthens the ability to respond to difficulty with kindness rather than attack, helping calm threat responses and build emotional resilience. Trauma-informed principles guide pacing, safety, and collaboration throughout. We prioritise choice, transparency, and nervous system regulation, ensuring that exploration happens within your window of tolerance. This integrative model supports work with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, identity questions, trauma history, life transitions, and emotional dysregulation. Therapy is both reflective and practical—grounded in evidence, responsive to feedback, and oriented
